Trash and Recycling Information

AAA Recycling and Trash Removal services the Englewood Mews community.

Trash

Trash is collected every Tuesday and Friday in the community. Please note that Englewood Mews HOA bylaws state that trash should not be put out until 7 p.m. the night before pick up. Out of courtesy for your neighbors, please do not block mailboxes or vehicles with your trash.

It is strongly recommended that residents use a secure trash can to prevent animals from foraging through trash, which results in litter throughout the community. For additional information on local wildlife and reasons to use trash cans, visit Backyard Wildlife.

For your convenience, a short list of items that AAA will not pick up has been included below. Visit
AAA's FAQ page for the complete list.

  • Oil, paint cans or tires
  • Animal carcasses, manure or large amounts of animal waste
  • Tree stumps or oversized brush longer than 4 feet in length or 6 inches in diameter
  • Dirt, stone, rock, brick or lead
  • Explosives, live ammunition or weapons
  • Propane, oxygen or helium tanks
  • Toxic materials
  • Bio-hazardous materials
  • Bags weighing more than 50 pounds
  • Any items that cannot be safely loaded by AAA or may damage hauling equipment
Please note that bulk items, like appliances and building materials, will not be picked up as routine trash. If you have bulk items for removal, contact AAA 24 hours in advance at (703) 818-8222 to arrange for special pick up. There is a cost (starting at $50) for the removal.

Alternately, you can takes these bulk items to the Fairfax County Solid Waste Facility on West Ox Road (across from the Costco).
